From its riveting beginning to its triumphant finale, Marty Haugen's musical, That You May Have Life: Musical Stories from the Gospel of John, proclaims in song a passionate declaration of the Gospel of John. From Jesus' intimate dialogues with Nicodemus and the woman at the well to his very public encounters with the man born blind and the mourners at Lazarus' tomb, you are immediately drawn into these beloved stories.

Several actors take up the principal parts in the musical – Jesus, Nicodemus, the Woman at the well, the Man born blind, Martha, Mary and Lazarus, Mary Magdalene and the Gospel writer himself, who acts as the Narrator. The director is Peter Harris who directed the hugely successful ‘Feast of life’ two years ago and the musical accompaniment is again led by the talented Paul Young.

There will be three performances of the musical over the Easter Weekend, matinees on Easter Saturday, 26 March, at 3pm and another on Easter Day, 27 March, as well as a later 6pm Easter Day performance. To accompany the musical, people will have a chance to explore the themes and characters of the show during Lent, on Wednesday mornings in the Upper Room of St Collen’s Community Hall starting at 11.30am, the first session beginning on the Wednesday after Ash Wednesday, that is, on 17th February.
