Next week we welcome Bishop Matthew and Skola Mhagama to the parish. He is the new Bishop of South West Tanganyika.

Mathew and Skola will be spending four nights at Glasgwm Bed & Breakfast in Abby Road from Thursday 23rd February until Monday 26th. They will join us for communion on Wednesday 22nd at St Collen's Church at 10.30am and lunch in the upper room afterwards. He will preach and celebrate the Eucharist on the following Sunday, 26th February. This will be followed by a bring and share lunch in the church hall.

Tuesday 28th February: Shrove Tuesday - Pancake Party in the church hall from 3.30-5.30pm.

Wednesday 1st March: Ash Wednesday/St David's Day: 10.30am - Solemn Eucharist with imposition of ashes; St Collen's. 6pm - Fish and chips supper in the upper room. 7pm - St David's Day Communion in St Collen's.

Friday 3rd - 11am - St Collen's - Women's World Day of prayer service.

Saterday 18th March 2017 - Plas Dolerw, Newtown - MAE Cymru conference - Welsh Women's Voices. 10.30am-3pm. The speakers at the conference will be Revd Dr Manon Ceridwen James, Director of Ministry in St Asaph Diocese and Dr Marian Loffler, Head of postgraduate studies at University of Wales Centre for Advanced Welsh & Celtic Studies who will address the conference on the: Identity, Nationality and Religion for Welsh Women.

Over 6 weeks, beginning on Wednesday 8th March at 11.30am we will be studying the new Lent book by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury. It Is a study on the subject of money and materialism. Archbishop Justin explores the tensions that arise in a society dominated by economics and finance. He encourages us to use Lent as a time of learning to trust in the abundance and grace of God.
