A special commemorative event was held on Tuesday to mark 150 years since the death of Charles Beyer, the renowned railway engineer and benefactor, who is buried at Llantysilio Church.

The day began with a service at St Collen’s Church at 10am, after which participants travelled by steam train from Llangollen Railway to Berwyn.

A procession led by Father Lee then continued across the Chain Bridge to Llantysilio Church, where the service was held, concluding with prayers at Beyer’s graveside.

The event will finish with refreshments at Llantysilio Hall, where Charles Beyer once lived.
