Liber Usualis

The Liber Usualis (‘The Book of Common Use’) is a major Solesmes chant book, issued with the title The Liber Usualis: with Introduction and Rubrics in English. The 1961 Solesmes edition contains Gregorian chant for the Mass across the liturgical year, including Sundays, solemnities, commons and feasts, as well as material for nuptial Masses, Requiems, Holy Week, ordinations, Vespers, Compline, litanies, Benediction and other traditional Latin chants.

Liber Cantualis

The Liber Cantualis (‘Book of Chants’) is a smaller Solesmes chant collection for more practical use. Solesmes describes the current Latin-English edition as containing “Latin Chants for the Ordinary of the Mass & Chants for other occasions,” including familiar Mass chants, Alleluias, chants for sprinkling with holy water, seven Mass Ordinaries, two Credos, Mass for the Dead, well-known sequences, chants for the Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady, seasonal chants, selected psalms and Compline.
