Meet the two ordinands (training for ordained ministry) who will be on placement with us in the Llangollen group of churches from September!

Rhys Parry

Rhys Parry is proud Cymraussie (Welsh Australian!), Labradoodle Parent, awful coffee snob and now trainee Priest. Having grown up in Buckley, now living in Penarlâg he still calls Australia home and missed daily dips in the ocean.  He came back to Cymru to be immersed in the language again and to pursue a life long dream of becoming a priest. Outside of church he runs a small consultancy called the Money Monks where he helps Christians to grow businesses.

Llangollen holds a very special place in his heart as has visited for many an Eisteddfod, plus his family classes it as their favourite place in all of North Wales. He can’t wait to meet you all get stuck in.

Deborah Catterall

Hello! I’m Deborah.

I’m so looking forward to being with you in September. I currently live in Ruthin but originally hail from Wigan, which I am excited to say is famous for its pies and for George Formby!
I’ll be training part time at the youthful age of 60 beginning here in Llangollen. I’m both nervous and excited to embark on this but looking forward to worshipping alongside you and to be under the guidance of Father Lee.

Experience so far has been eclectic, to say the least. I’ve led and taken part in various types of services in the Dyffryn Clwyd Mission Area and led lots of projects too.

My professional background is as a singer, conductor, voice teacher and writer. Whilst I love my music, I love quiet contemplation even more and I’m keen to explore our connection to God in ways that bring us together and also in ways that bring our whole being into oneness with God. Experience of that is vital, I feel. It will be lovely to learn about everyone, to get to know you and how worship unfolds, as the weeks go by.

With every blessing, Deborah.
